Welcome to our Youth Band – the next step in your musical journey.
Building on the foundations of our Training Band, the Youth Band offers developing players the chance to grow in confidence, skill, and musicality within a supportive and inspiring environment. Here, players begin to take on more challenging music, explore ensemble playing in greater depth, and experience the excitement of performing together.
We are proud to offer a safe, inclusive space where young musicians can thrive. Every member is encouraged to challenge themselves while feeling supported by experienced leaders and fellow players. Teamwork, respect, and encouragement are at the core of everything we do.
The Youth Band is not just about improving your playing – it’s about becoming part of a vibrant musical community. You’ll build lasting friendships, gain performance experience, and develop confidence both on and off the stage.
Any new players must have had a basic amount of tuition as all training is done as a band. All new members need to be able to read music, know basic fingering/slide positions as a minimum, and be at Grade 3 or equivalent standard.
If you’re ready to take the next step, we’d love to welcome you.
The Band currently consists of over 20 talented young players ranging from ages 9 to 16. WFYB draws players from a wide area encompassing North Surrey, East Berkshire and West Middlesex. The band is available to play at events, please contact us to discuss your event.
