Outreach Workshops

Where we do not have the capacity to provide year-long teaching programmes in every school, our Outreach Workshops will enable us to reach a much wider number of schools and young people through one-off or short-term sessions. Workshops can be tailored to different age groups and delivered in a variety of settings, providing an opportunity for pupils to experience brass music without requiring a long-term commitment from the school.

The aim is to reach children and young people who may have little or no previous access to music education, particularly those who might otherwise face barriers to taking part. Sessions will be designed to be engaging, accessible and inclusive, giving participants the opportunity to try brass instruments, learn some basic musical skills and experience the enjoyment of making music together.

The workshops will also provide a pathway into the wider Windsor Forest Brass Academy programme. Those who develop an interest in playing and would like to continue can be encouraged to join our Starter Brass programme, where they can receive further support and develop their skills in a friendly, welcoming environment. This creates a progression from an initial taster session through to regular participation in brass music and, ultimately, our wider ensemble programme.
