Windsor Forest Training Brass

Welcome to our Training Brass – a place where music, community, and confidence come together.

Designed for young musicians who have already started their musical journey, our Training Band provides a supportive and encouraging environment where players can develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy making music with others. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, inclusive space where everyone feels valued, progress is celebrated, and learning is fun.

Training is delivered through full band rehearsals, so members should have a basic level of musical knowledge before joining. As a guide, players should be able to read music, know basic fingering or slide positions, and be working at approximately Grade 2 standard or equivalent. Children from our Starter Band may be invited to attend Training Band rehearsals when they are ready.

Beyond learning music, members become part of a welcoming community where friendships are formed, confidence grows, and the enjoyment of playing together is at the heart of everything we do. We are also fortunate to benefit from support from members of Royal Holloway Brass Band, helping to inspire and encourage our young players.

The Training Band is open to children of all ages who are ready for this level of ensemble playing. If you are unsure which band would be the best fit for your child, please email the team and we will be happy to help and advise on the most comfortable starting point.
